Jen Matson is a fine art photographer living in the Back Bay. Known for photographing nature and outdoor imagery, she brings that same gentle touch when photographing Boston’s historic buildings, giving new life to old architecture. Jen only shoots in natural lighting, with a 35mm SLR, does not believe in digital manipulation, and does not even use auto focus. All photographs are shot on Fuji film (yes, she is still using film!) and printed in the darkroom.

Jen received her first camera as a gift in 1986--a 35mm point & shoot. Photography was a hobby through college; right after graduation she bought a SLR camera and starting learning f-stops and shutter speeds. She has been in business since 1998, and her photographs are available in fine art galleries and retail stores throughout Boston, as well as at select art shows and festivals throughout the year.
